Food Safety Micro-credential

A nationally recognised micro-credential and the foundation of any hospitality career. You'll learn food safety legislation, workplace hygiene, safe receiving and storage, and how to implement HACCP in a real commercial kitchen. 50 notional hours, worked through at your own pace and worth 5 credits toward the NZ Certificate in Cookery (Level 4).

SERVICE SKILLS 4–6 WEEKS

Front of House Course

Perfect for those starting out in hospitality. Master the full service journey — greeting and seating guests, taking and processing orders, serving food and drinks, and handling billing with confidence. You'll build real floor skills like active listening, professional customer care and teamwork, and graduate with an e-Portfolio and digital badge ready to hand to employers.

COFFEE SKILLS ~20 HOURS

Barista Course

Turn a love of coffee into a paying skill. Learn to operate commercial espresso equipment, pull consistent shots and prepare a full range of espresso beverages, plus hot and cold drinks, all while keeping your machine clean and service-ready. Add friendly customer service to the mix and you'll finish confident and ready to step behind any café bar. Around 20 hours to complete.

KITCHEN SKILLS 40 HOURS · 2–4 WEEKS

Kitchen Hand Course

The essential first step into any professional kitchen. Learn to identify and control hazards, follow food safety procedures, keep yourself and your workspace clean, and receive and store food correctly. You'll also learn to hold hot and cold food safely and set up prep stations so the chef can hit the ground running. 40 notional hours, worked through at your own pace.
