Course Duration

 

  • This is a self-paced home study course that can be completed in a time frame that suits you.
  • You can work through the material as fast as you like, but a maximum of 20 months (10 months per programme) is given to complete this programme.
  • This programme has an average expected duration of 1000 hours
  • This programme has a minimum average of 500 hours for Industry Practical
  • Course material is completed online via our Learner Management System, Canvas.
  • Our Learner Management System can be accessed via mutliple devices : Desktop, Tablet & Mobile
  • Our highly-experienced Chef Instructors will be on hand to guide you through to a successful course completion

On completion of this Food Preparation & Culinary Arts programme, you could gain employment as a Commis Chef. You could then also further your studies with International Culinary Studio in either Baking/Patisserie or Food Preparation & Cookery Supervision

On completion of this course, you will be awarded with:

International Culinary Studio Certificate of Achievement* and a Digital Badge.

Minimum Enrolment Requirements

  • You must be 16 years or older, with a minimum of 8 years schooling
  • If English is not your first language, you will be required to provide evidence of your English Language skills. This is an IELTS result of a General or Academic score of 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.  For more information please visit ielts.org
Other additional costs

You need to prepare for the following additional costs, depending on your programme:

  • Ingredients used for practicing all recipes at home or at the workplace.
  • Chef Uniform and Safety Shoes for practical’s.
  • Costs to purchase any technology and/or kitchen equipment that you may not have, but need to use in the programme. (see included lists of requirements)
  • Cost of your internet access.
  • Any printing you choose to do from the Study Guides.
